Many Long-Haulers not weeks, but months later continue to experience intermittent or continous shortness of breath (SOB). Many will show up normal oxygen levels even when feeling very breathless.

Recently, a medical doctor at Mount Sinai Hospital, Jonathan Aviv published an article in the International Journal of Pulmonary & Respiratory Sciences. Here he describes the care of 18 patients who had shortness of breath several weeks after the acute infection of COVID-19. The patients reported that they usually did not have this problem while sleeping nor while during exercise, rather after the exercise. They decided to observed their vocal cords…

Recently, professor at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Paul Gardner, wrote an article which has been quite controversial in the COVID Long-Hauler community.

I will breafly summarize what I think is relevant from the article. However, I recommend people reading it by themselves to get their own reaction rather than just what I am highlight (click here for the article). If you have read the article already, feel free to jump to the next section “My thoughts”.

Professor Garner initially describes his horrible experience with post-COVID symptomatology.

I had a foggy head, acutely painful calf, upset stomach, tinnitus, aching…

Recently, I wrote a piece about the new evidence showing that there is biological disturbance in long-haulers (see article here).

Now instead, we have got something looking not so good. It seems that the virus SARS-CoV-2 is capable of crossing the blood-brain-barrier. I will be using the term COVID-19 across this article to refer to both the disease and the virus (SARS-CoV).

The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a colorless fluid present in both the brain and spinalcord. This liquid is usually tested when doctors suspect you might have an illness that could be affecting your nervous system, like a virus.

It wouldn’t be surprising to anyone with Long-COVID (chronic-COVID, etc) the fact that most (if not all) their examinations come fine, which tends to create an important disbelieve by the medical community. In addition, not knowing what is not right makes it harder to find a solution.

Luckily for Long-Haulers, scientists at IncellDx seem to have found blood markers that show biological disturbance in Long Haulers (see paper here). Furthermore, they have developed a Long Hauler Index algorithm. This algorithm when training was capable of predicting with 97% precision who is a severe case of COVID-19, a long hauler and…

Are we really immune once we survive COVID-19?

Earlier this year, a Chinese study published in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infection caused panic among the public due to the conclusions made by the authors:

“We herein estimated the longevity of specific antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in a moderate COVID-19 patient, and reported that antibodies disappeared within 3 months after the onset of the symptoms.”

These claims alarmed the general population, as many understood that the lack of antibodies would be a synonym for lack of immunity. …
